The city of Tucker closed playgrounds, tennis courts and other public facilities following the coronavirus of 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak, but the city’s parks and recreation department is keeping the public engaged with an online video series.
Tucker’s Facebook video series, dubbed the “Stay Away Series,” is hosted by members of Tucker Parks and Recreation staff and includes tutorials and guides on topics such as working out from home, dancing, art, cooking, baking and similar activities. Videos are posted daily to the “Tucker Parks & Recreation” Facebook page.
“It’s [a series of] 10-15-minute videos that people can interact with,” said recreation leader Joe Stewart. “It’s trivia, no-bake cookie recipes, doing some workouts that are interactive for kids and adults. We’re just trying to stay active with the community and make sure they’re active.”
