MAKING S**T UP
SINCE 1980
AN ANALOG HERO FOR A DIGITAL AGE
For as long as I can remember, I’ve made s**t up. During my 38 years on this planet, I’ve been a great many things. I’ve been a songwriter, and a singer in bands. I’ve been a banker, a loan officer, a business consultant. I’ve been a writer and publisher, start-up founder, and a chief marketing officer. Yet through it all, I have always written stories, and I’ve found the most joy from crafting narratives out of the raw ingredients of life. I’m a born storyteller, addicted to the rush of creativity. Always have been; always will be.
I DO STUFF
Writing is my oldest, most fundamental obsession. It started almost from the beginning, and still has a grip on me. I've written short stories, poems, novels, novellas, screenplays, and songs. Whatever the story required.
I make music only occasionally now, but for about 10 years (1998-2008), I was very active, writing and recording over 40 songs all on my lonesome and with 3 groups of totally different stripes.
I make the occasional digital collage, mostly sticking to the surreal, odd, and maybe a little disturbing.
I'm obsessed with doing whatever I can to help my community mitigate against the worst effects of climate change. I started a non-profit called the billi in 2019 to help small businesses find ways to decarbonize their businesses.
BUSINESS
DUDE
In the last ten years I have started, or been part of the early stage for 5 startups and one non-profit. Some might call it ADD, but I call it diversifying my portfolio.
